Course Information
Description	A studio course exploring drawing with continued emphasis on descriptive, expressive and conceptual approaches. Students will further develop the ability to see and interpret a variety of subjects while using diverse materials and techniques which promote the appreciation of cultural expression. Course work will facilitate a dialogue in which students will employ critical analysis to broaden their understanding of drawing as a discipline.

Learning Outcomes	Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will: Describe visual subjects through the use of accurate and sensitive observation.(PSLO 2; measured by specific drawings) Generate drawings which demonstrate descriptive, expressive, and conceptual approaches with an increased focus on individual expression.(PSLO 1 and 2; measured by concrete drawings) Utilize varied materials and techniques, including color media, with informed aesthetic and conceptual strategies. .(PSLO 2; mesured by drawings) Demonstrate an appropriate level of professional practice, including safety, craft and presentation. Analyze and critique drawings verbally and/or in writing.(PSLO 2; measured by class discussions) Relate their drawings to historical and contemporary developments in the field.(PSLO 5; measured through class presentations) The student will be able to: 1. See and draw complex shapes accurately.(PSLO 1,2) Measured by project rubric 2. Create a cohesive series of work that is interesting and work it through to completion for public display. Major Assignments Schedule	The student, with the help of the instructor, produces three series of work on which he works individually, the last of these series is connected to a theme of life drawing.

Course Policies
Instructor Policies	Cell phone policy: Students need to be mentally present in class. The professor of this course reserves the right to change this syllabus at any time.
Attendance Policy	The student has two free absences for emergencies, thereafter the grade drops by a letter grade for every two absences.
Academic Honesty	Academic honesty is expected from all students, and dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. Please consult the LSC-PA policies (Section IX, subsection A, in the Faculty Handbook) for consequences of academic dishonesty.
Facility Policies	No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
